Merck Inks Deal to Develop mRNA in Africa–Continent Prepares to Become Vaccine Development Independent.

Merck KGaA or “Merck Germany” entered into a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Afrigen Biologics to support the development of an mRNA vaccine technology platform in that continent. Part of a movement to promote production of mRNA capacity in Africa, will this move end up like some other failed effort such as Moderna in Africa?
